The concept and title for
Final Chapters came after a day spent with Pearl Harbor Survivor Joseph Sumner. As the day was about to end, Mr. Sumner expressed how sharing his experience with Warsaw Community High School students was the final chapter of his WWII experience. At that point, I realized what a distinct privilege and honor these men had bestowed upon my students and me. They have entrusted their unique life stories and hard earned lessons to a new generation. I watched students learn, laugh, and even cry together with the Veterans. The students have become true historians, sharing their newfound knowledge with you. We hope you treasure the legacy within
Final Chapters.
