Creativity is looking at the world with a new perspective and expressing our interpretations of what we see, feel, and experience. Creativity is self-expression for others to view. It unifies people and invites people into our creative space to help others understand our perspectives of the world.

The 2023–2024 publication is the tenth volume of Element, and the theme is "Flowing with Creativity." Element Creative Arts Publishing club members selected this theme because, like water, creative writing and art have many phases and forms.

Creativity can flow from someone's mind onto the page and out into the world, but it can also freeze up from time to time, or even evaporate and move far out of reach. In addition, creativity, like water, can burst through barriers given time to build up and recuperate. You can't quell it. Water, like art and creative writing, takes various shapes and molds and is transformative as a substance, ever-changing in a continuation of its cycle dependent on external forces. In many ways art has its own creative cycle shifting and taking shape from the artist's experiences and inspiration.

"Flowing with creativity" is a theme that reflects how creativity can exist on its own, but it exists with other passions and ideas. Creativity can exist freely as well, even as it takes on its many forms in the hearts and minds of those who harness it. Each page of this volume will provide an opportunity to dive into expressive art and explore passions and deep, untempered feelings within the artwork and creative writing pieces.
