In the beginning...Schools
The night of the book release party was magic, filling the room with smiling students, parents, staff and the local press. The anthology celebration began with book presentations and reporters' questions; it peaked with a hive of students autographing copy after copy of their newly published book.
Pen & Publish was created to share the power of publishing and embrace the stories in each of us. Our student books may not be bestsellers, but they feel like it! Books are a marvelous tool; very flexible. The process and product can be designed to accomplish multiple objectives in an exciting and fulfilling way.
And Nonprofits…
Furthering objectives has always been our win-win focus, whether publishing collections for youth serving organizations or adults, co-publishing 501C3 founders, or moving work up to a large publisher.
Exploring ideas to design the ideal project is our passion.
To Authors, Agents and Imprints
Our author friendly model continues to evolve along with the book industry as we partner with industry professionals to first time authors, and groups wanting an economical way to harness the power of publishing.
Open Books Press is our in-house imprint, and Transformation Media Books titles are determined by our publishing partner. Each uses a variation of the traditional query-proposal process and contract. We do not charge authors to publish.
Agents are welcome. We do not offer advances, but payments through agent clauses are available. Our agreement provides us with exclusive rights; while offering co-publishing or an easy out should the book have an opportunity for greater success with a large publisher.
Our new self-publishing option brings the same custom benefits to authors we can not invest in. We’re here to advise and assist, not exploit your dreams. Options range from design services to international distribution, returnable books, press run or POD, and subsidiary rights.
