About Us

Our Mission

Pen & Publish exists to further the objectives of participating organizations while benefiting each participant. We will serve and facilitate the educational and emotional needs of our society through an integrity based system of cooperation and inclusion.

In the beginning...

The night of the book release party was magic, filling the room with smiling students, parents, staff and the local press. The anthology celebration began with book presentations and reporters' questions; it peaked with a hive of students autographing copy after copy of their newly published book. A signing line formed for the principal as he beamed in the contagious excitement .

Parents and teachers reported in the weeks and months after the book release that many students who previously had below average interest in reading and writing spent free time reading and rereading their peers' stories.

Pen & Publish was created to share the power of publishing and embrace the stories in each of us. Over the years we have worked with hundreds of children and adults, each with a story to tell and a need to be heard. We have found that children who are listened to develop articulation skills and a healthy self-awareness. Children who are acknowledged discover that the world is full of wonderful opportunities for them to learn, grow and express their dreams, goals and feelings.

Our books may not be bestsellers, but they'll feel like it! Books are a marvelous tool; very flexible. The process and product can be designed to accomplish multiple objectives in an exciting and fulfilling way.
